Erik's Delicafe - Mountain View

I ordered a bread dish, and that's what I received. When I called to address the issue, the woman who answered struggled to communicate. I requested a refund, and she simply said, "It's $3.00. You can come and pick it up." I found this quite unreasonable since I had ordered for delivery. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said the manager wasn't available but would call me back, and then she hung up.

Out of the few fast-food restaurants in this plaza, Erik's is my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the Abbot's Habit was. The thick layer of sprouts really do add a whole dimension of flavor and texture. The employees were kind and fast to deliver my sandwich. The dining room was pretty empty when I visited and had nice decorations with pictures of historic Mountain View.

I usually enjoy a good sandwich from here (they have delicious gluten-free bread)! Order lunch for 12 employees here and they seemed somewhat overwhelmed with door fittings and our order. I had to double check that we had all sandwiches and that they left nothing. They left a sandwich, not clearly labeled a gluten-free sandwich as such and then added Ranch to a sandwich that nobody asked for. Also two of the employees wore no gloves during production/handling and made sandwiches that pushed me out.

I've been a fan of Eriks for a long time, but a few years ago, I noticed that some of the branches made anemic sandwiches and sneaked on the ingredients. Apparently, it has to do with who owns which locations. When I was in this place, the sandwiches seem to be better.

The food was disappointing. The tuna salad and potato salad were mostly just mayonnaise, and the gluten-free bread was stale. I’ve visited other Erik's locations multiple times and enjoyed my meals, so I’m not sure what went wrong at this one.
