Came here on a Friday evening, and the place was pretty crowded. We waited about 10 minutes before being seated and ordered mentaiko pizza, hamachi carpaccio, agedashi tofu, and unagi meshi. The hamachi carpaccio was great, I loved the citrusy sauce that accompanied it. The agedashi tofu was standard; nothing too special about it. I would definitely skip the mentaiko pizza; it didn't have much flavor and tasted really bread-y. The unagi meshi was our favorite. The unagi added so much flavor to the rice dish and the rice was so crispy from the clay pot. This dish stole the show and we couldn't stop thinking about it even after eating it! All of the items came out fairly quickly except the unagi meshi. The restaurant was busy; the servers weren't too responsive, but we had to call someone over just to make sure it was still being made. Overall I would definitely come back to try their other clay pot rice dishes. I think this would be a fun place to come with friends and share multiple dishes together.
Always a good time at Gochi! The clay pot dishes and karaage in my opinion are some of the best! The salads are also really good the only thing is that they limit your time to 1.5 hours, so you should do your research beforehand or decide quickly what you want to maximize your time. The good thing with this location is that they take reservations up to 6 people, so it's great if you don't want to wait for a table.
This is a small cozy place with a creative take on Japanese cuisine. Loved the floor type seating tables and the service was quick and helpful. We were all vegetarians and we loved everything we tried here: Mushroom tempura: Tasted amazing. Contrary to tempura I 've tried at some other places, this tasted great and didn 't feel oily or greasy at all. Really well made and the matcha salt and lime definitely elevated this to the next level Miso pizza: Really creative take on the Japanese tofu miso platter in the form of pizza. Would have loved for the miso/umami flavor to be a bit more dominant than the cheese, however this was still a solid 8/10. Risotto Croquette: Really good, but was missing the Japanese flavor here. All in all it was a great experience, would have loved it if they add a few more options like sushi to their menu. Also, would be really great if the claypot rice can be offered as a vegetarian option as well. Would highly recommend this place for small groups of you 're in to try something different.
Very interesting place! I like the ambiance but the food odd slightly overpriced for what it is. We got their carpaccio and clay pot. I think they charge $2 for broth for the clay pot and I highly highly recommend!
