We had arrived here after several recommendations. It certainly lived up to its reputation, not only as a place to find great food,but...also at incredible value. The entree was wraps of avocado, smoked salmon and cream cheese with a simple salad. Very nice and light. The main was roasted chicken with mushroom sauce and chipped potatoes, superb! Following this there was a cheese board and a dessert of millefeuille. Coffee was also included. Between four of us there was a litre of wine to share. At 12.50 we found this to be amazing value. The auberge itself is lovely inside and for summer visitors there is an open air terrace opposite. The service was friendly and efficient. Cant wait to go back.
We met the chef on Saturday night at a village function and decided to come for lunch today. Such delicious food. There's a set menu but it appears that they have a few options for those who don't eat fish for example. Today's lunch menu...was fish terrine, (one table had soup instead), sauerkraut with mixed meats, cheese platter, rice pudding with raspberry coulis, with coffee and wine included in the very reasonable €12.50 charge.
Just back from another beautiful lunch, it never fails to impress us. Food varied and excellent value for money. Christmas Day last year was perfect, probably the nicest non UK traditional dinner we have ever had and amazing value at under €50 per head including...wine, coffee and plenty of courses. Staff are so accommodating and very efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back many times in 2018 with friends and family
Our friends took us there for lunch and this was our first visit, even though we have been living just 15 minutes away since November 2016. We have a gite in Oradour Fanais and would definitely recommend this place to our guests, especially as you can...get a taxi from our place to the restaurant. You can sit indoors our outdoors. The place was busy and vibrant We will be back very soon. Many thanks to Camille from Sharron Colin at Chez Wildig.
Parfait
