The person serving was friendly, welcoming and very able to advise us on vegan options, of which there was really only one pair. We chose two of the three vegan nets without pumpkin), the Aloo Gobhi and the Auberginen masala both $16.50). I was pleasantly surprised both the simple $4) and garlic $4.50) naan were vegan, so we ordered this as well as the green pulao $5). The curries were good, if not amazing, with the cauliflower bowl nice and brownish and the eggplant a pleasantly oily. We ordered medium spiciness level, but we could have eaten hot without injury. I would have liked the opportunity if a “dippy” court, like a Dal, for the Naan and wonder if they had changed the dal makhani if we had asked. I enjoyed this place and Mount Beauty was beautiful and peaceful compared to near Bright Crawling with holidaymakers.
'Bombay Velvet' not only serves delicious meals, but it is also one of the few Indian restaurants that offer many vegetarian options suitable for vegans. The service is fast and efficient, and although the family-run business may not be overly friendly, they are professional. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the portions of their traditional dishes are generous. If you find yourself in Mount Beauty or the surrounding area, I highly recommend paying them a visit for a satisfying dining experience, as they offer both dine-in and takeout options.
This is probably the best Indian food I've ever had. I am completely hooked now, this restaurant is my go-to in Mount Beauty! I have brought friends here and none of us could stop thinking about the food for days afterwards. The service is excellent and the couple who own and run the restaurant do a great job keeping up with the demand - there always seems to be a stream of takeaway orders going out the door. The prices feel very reasonable to me as well. I can go in and order enough food for two people, along with wine, and somehow it always comes to under $50.

This restaurant is truly incredible, boasting the best quality food I have ever experienced near any tourist attractions. The service and authentic Indian cuisine are outstanding, and we will definitely be returning for more of their genuine hospitality. It was a pure delight.
