Restaurant Postkeller

An einem schönen Sonntag zu Gast gewesen. Das Würzfleisch war noch das leckerste GeGericht. Der Rest war Durchschnitt. Weiterhin war enttäuschend, dass wir keine Rechnung erhalten haben, sondern noch per Block abgerechnet wurde. Alles in allem eind glatte 4-. Mühlhausen hat definitiv schmackhaftere Locations zum gut Essen gehen. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Die Auswahl an Lokalitäten zur Mittagszeit ist beschränkt und deswegen sind wir hier eingekehrt.Rustikale Einrichtung und bemühter Kellner wurden dann noch vom verloren gegangenem Essensbon übertroffen. Qualität ... naja, Quantität OK, Sauberkeit ... oh, mein Gott!

On a cold November Sunday, we followed the advice of a local resident of Mühlhausen and came here for lunch. The first impression inside is impressive with its charming old wood panels and chandeliers. Some tables are nicely snuggled in booths if you wish a little more privacy. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The menu options included both non-vegetarian and vegetarian choices, and a selection of dishes have local Thuringian flavours. We sampled the Zander fish, "Voigt" style stir-fried vegetables and the Soljanka soup and were pleased.

We went for a late supper to the Postkeller restaurant, as our small hotel had no restaurant of its own. The Postkeller is inside a block of old houses, a few steps from the main street.The place was quiet with only a few customers as this was a tuesday night. The service was attentive and friendly, we got good advice on thuringian specialities. The food was tasty and as usual in Germany, the portions substantial. The recommended red wine from a close-by producer was an excellent choice, although Thuringen is not really a well-known wine area. The price level was very reasonable.
