Gamsbar - München

After our first day of exploring and learning about Munich Marienplatz, my friends and I stumbled upon this small, interesting looking place. Thinking it was some sort of pharmacy or doctor's office, it is more of a bar than a restaurant. It has seating outside and inside. As you go in, you will see the gentlemen working behind the counters, wearing white lab coats like doctors. The staff are super friendly and comical. They offer you nuts to eat, water, and recommendations from their menu. The bar's decor inside is very nice. They have a huge painting on the wall of the bar. We all ordered only beers, as we wanted to wine down a little bit and take a breather from so much walking. And we also used their restrooms which are clean. After, they were so kind as to help us when we asked for directions to our next stop. I definitely recommend this nice bar the next time you are in the area. It is kind of hidden but you can't miss it with their name. I really want to go back and try one of their liquors.

We stumbled over this caffe on the way to the residency. Just as we came in, we were greeted by a cheerful waitress. she answered all our questions and constantly checked us, even our needs at points, in contrast to most other European restaurants where we ate on our 3 weeks trip. we had drinks, so much homemade brot (they kindly brought us more,) tortoise cream soup with pastrami-libers and a roast beef sandwich with meerrettich. I think I discovered a drink of joy when my man took his first bite of sandwiches, he enjoyed the taste so much. they speak English, have menu descriptions in English and take cash and cards. we are going back to the final.

We have been here since the opening a few years ago, meet with friends for coffee on Saturday morning. in this time we have seen a terrible turnover of the staff. but recently a new couple took it and the dinge. have really improved. now they can have a good selection of snacks and there are always a few dishes for lunch. the atmosphere is cozy and the decor is excellent. the personal is very friendly. in the summer they can sit outside.

I met some friends for appetizer drinks. the weather was nice, so we sat outside. service is great, they serve a good selection of beers. bu above all they serve the gamserl. the it signiture cocktail. Very good. fun.

We caught up for a short drink before dinner and it was so beautiful. the staff was amazing and recommended the youngs some beer while I had a huge cocktail. though being reserved everywhere, we were shown to one table and stayed. for a whole thing without problems. if we had been in a bit longer, we would have visited again in any case!
