Lotus Garden - Mullingar

My szechuan sauce tasted like they put soya sauce, chilli and pepper in a bowl and mixed it.. chicken chow mein came with no sauce. First and last time there.

I have been a regular customer for years both dining in and take away Unfortunately the standard is not as good as it was Last night I ordered crispy duck It was dry over cooked and inedible This is the third time the food was disappointing in recent months I’m afraid I won’t be returning

Very disappointed with the order and service we got tonight. Went into the restaurant and waited to order another guy came in and one of the staff came down and walked by me and went to the other guy and asked him what he wanted to order like i wasn't even there, walked back passed me there was one man already at the till getting his order when he left the guy at the till took my order. I ordered 2 trays egg fried rice 2 curry sauce 2 chips portion of chicken balls and tray of shredded salt and chili chicken. We had a disscusion about the chicken i wanted was to be salt and chili dry no sauce. When I got home started to dish up the food when I open the bag there was 2 trays egg fried rice 2 curry sauce a tray of sweet and sour chicken and prawn crackers, this came to €25 which I was not told at the counter this is how much as the guy was on the phone and just put the card machine and said tap I couldn't see the machine as the counter is to high so I just tapped the card couldnt ask how much as he just ignored me. We live 15 minutes away from this restaurant and I do not think they would have even changed the order if I went back, they seem very rude.

We had a fabulous 3 course meal tonight in Lotus Garden for our 27th wedding anniversary. Very tasty food, huge portions and lovely ambience. And most of all very friendly and welcoming staff. Looking forward to coming back again

Have been getting takeaway from here for a long time. Has recently got a new owner and my god the food has gone down, it is actually inedible, the special fried rice tastes awful, used to have lovely fresh prawns and now chewy tasteless prawns. The salt and chilli chicken which used to be really tasty is bland and stringy chicken. I'm so disappointed as this was my favourite chinese restaurant in mullingar both for takeaway and eat in. Will not be wasting my money again.
