Golden Inn Restaurant - MULWALA

You can't really fault this place, it's a Motel / Motor Inn right in the heart of Myrtleford that offers: Clean Rooms Friendly Service Foxtel Swimming Pool

During a recent visit to the Yarrawonga/Mulwala area my wife and I decided to try the Golden Inn Restaurant at the Mulwala Water Ski Club.We'd read the reviews and I was a reluctant participant but my wife wanted to give it a try and so we did.When we arrived at 7.00pm, we were taken to our table, which was the first disappointment.The restaurant was half empty and there was a nice table for two overlooking the lake, but we were allocated the table right next to the kitchen doors.We'd just sat down, when a drinks waitress seemed to appear out of nowhere and asked if we wanted a drink, luckily we knew what we wanted and we ordered two glasses of local Sauvignion Blanc.Within 2 minutes of the drinks being served another waitress appeared out of nowhere again and asked us if we were ready to order our meal.I explained that we'd only just arrived and that we hadn't had a look at the menu and could she give us 10 minutes.One nanosecond after the 10 minutes our waitress was back and so we ordered.We ordered a serve of chinese sausage and two sesame prawns as an entre.My wife enjoyed the chinese sausage, but I think any forensic scientist would have difficulty locating any prawns in my entre, it was reconstituted something with a sickly sweet sauce, which I took one bite out of.For our main course we ordered barbequed pork with plum sauce with a small serve of special fried rice, which we shared.It arrived about 2 minutes after the entre's had been cleared away.It was average, not great but not terrible either.One minute after we'd finished the main course we were asked if we wanted to order any desert and so I ordered a banana fritter with ice cream to share.It arrived 2 minutes later on one plate with one spoon, and the waitress looked a little stunned when I asked her if we could have a second spoon.Again it was average.So after a three course meal we found ourselves at the cashier at 7.45pm.Most Chinese restaurants have a reputation for serving meals far too quickly, but I think this must have been close to a record breaking performance.The decore was 1970's and the service was quick but I wouldn't say great.We won't be going back.

The food at this place has never improved over the years it is always bland and no taste the only good part is that it is fully licensed

Have eaten here many times and the food is very good quality. Good menu choices and variety of food plus Non Chinese meals available.

I have tried this restaurant a few time and every time its been disappointing all the meals are nothing spacial but the lemon/or something chicken was horrible. Sad to say but i won't go back there.
