A big tourist city as Munich you will expect to have menu in English or at list support from the staff to help you to choose on the menu. Unfortunately neither happened to us. No attention no care at all. Very disappointing!
Came to the bar, waitress brought us menu in German (ah yes yes i know we are in Germany). We couldn’t understand anything and have asked menu in English and she said that they don’t have it. Ok fine, not a big deal. After couple...of minutes she came back and asked if we are ready to order. Sorry we are not, because we don’t understand. She run away and never came back..we were left waiting and waiting and waiting. After a while we just left the place without even possibility to order. Well maybe for english speaking you could at least make some effort and help to pick the order or maybe at least come to collect the order! We went to next bar Dillingers..very helpful stuff. Thanks very much
Located somewhat off the beaten track, around minutes on the U-Bahn from Munich City Centre, Burgers calls home a largely residential area that luckily also plays host to a handful of large hotels. It was during a stay in one of these I found...myself testing their mettle. The place is very well turned out, I'm not sure if modern is the term I'd use given their mainly wooden interior, but very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Truth be told I thought it was going to be a bit too upmarket for me but options in the area are relatively limited so I gave it a go and was impressed. Prices are fair, I got change from a note for my main course and beers, and despite my almost obtuse decision to not get a burger in a place called Burgers and opt for the mixed grill I can confirm it was of a high standard, fine selection of varying meats cooked well, in a healthy portion. Service was how I like it: pleasant, friendly but not overbearing. Being a bit out of the centre it also wasn't too busy around half full, which I'd call perfect for a Thursday outwith the main tourist areas as the clientele were largely local, which is usually a hallmark of good quality. I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying it would be worth trekking from a different part of the city to make a visit to, but if you are staying in any of the hotels in the area I'd definitely recommend making a stop their one night. Good quality food with none of the crowding or higher prices of the city centre.
Enjoyed a lovely burger today. I had the classic. It was good quality beef with bacon and cheese. Really excellent, good service and good value.
