Food: While not able to make a full meal out of it, we were excited for vegan savory pastries pies for a late breakfast in the country where vegan breakfast is almost impossible. The kumara and cashew pies were amazing! The veggie soup seemed a little canned or not freshly made, but overall was a good snack until finding a larger meal later. Service: kind and willing to ask the kitchen about vegan options. Kitchen was quite slow with a cup of soup though. Atmosphere: I'm sure some people may like it, but dead animals on the walls is usually a no for us vegans. Regardless, NZ has a hunting obsession, so I can't blame them. The restaurant was clean and that is most important.
Food was delivered to our table fast and it was yum. Great toasted sandwich and huge iced chocolates!
Good cafe; pleased to find it as it’s the only one open past 3:30 in Murchison. Stopped in for a coffee and muffin at 15:45 and they happily served me without making me feel rushed. Others came in after me and all were served with a smile. Coffee was good and the bran muffin awesome, hardly find those on the menu and was very pleased. Lots of cabinet food options as well as a kitchen menu, ample indoor and outdoor seating, good wifi and clean toilets make this a 5star spot in my book.
Hands down the best sausage rolls we've ever had. We stop here every trip for coffee and sausage rolls. Could only manage a picture with half a sausage roll left haha, to good to wait!
While we have stopped for a bite to eat at Beechwood while traveling through Murchison on many occasions today I was extremely surprised when paying for a scone and a coffee to eat on the premises to have to pay an extra 50cents for a small packaged cube of butter, not even enough to spread on the scone. This is a principle complaint not a financial one. In saying this the scone was very nice.
