Premium prices, only bar here, no choice but pay for horrendously over priced drinks but they did have friendly staff.
We spent a couple of days on the Aguilar beach and used this café for lunch and drinks. They take bookings for lunch which involves ordering your food in advance and then booking a table for a certain time when the food should be ready. The terrace has a great view of the beach and the only downside are the toilets which are very basic, but as they serve the beach as well that is understandable. The service is very haphazard but there was a young man who was much better than the others.
When we arrived at the beach, around 12 we make a reservation and we order the food. We arrived on time for the appetizer and at the food was on time. Octopus, croquettes were fine, vieiras a like over cooked. The gazpacho was not homemade. The key for me it that he is organized and the food was quite good. It is convenient at the beach. I simply don’t agree with all the very bad punctuations in trip advisor. Sergio and his team are nice and do their best. If you are at the beach, give it a try.
We visited this bar four or five times in August 2018 as we were staying just up the hill. It's situated right on the edge of Playa de Aguilar, a wonderful beach with amazing surf. We really did enjoy coming to Bar Nautica, mostly because of it's location and I wanted to give it a 5* review but we struggled with the service. We did our best to always order in Spanish and we always left a tip but on a couple of occasions, the waiting staff just refused to serve us at our table. As hard as we tried to get their attention they just point blank refused to acknowledge us, meaning we had to stand at the bar and wait to be served then make two trips carrying drinks to our table. Other days the staff were great. We were truly baffled why some days, despite serving everyone around us, the staff just wouldn't come near us, an overly polite couple with two young children. We're not sure if this was due to our poor Spanish pronunciation as we did seem to always be the only Brits in the place. I suppose we'll never know. The food, however, was excellent. Big portions and well priced. Good for kids also. Mostly seafood. Maybe one day we'll go back and see if the service situation was just a weird glitch. If anyone can report back whether they experienced similar service issues we'd be very interested.
