Maidrites were excellent!! Munchy Basket was was over cooked but love the concept. Service was good..
I hadn't had a Maid-Rite since 1984 when I lived across from Peoria, Illinois. When I found out they were still around in Iowa, I knew I had to stop by before leaving. On the way home, we visited the Maid-Rite in Muscatine, and I must say, it was just as I remembered. The ambiance was very nostalgic, with many vintage photos and signs adorning the walls that brought back fond memories. The Maid-Rite sandwich tasted just like I remembered, and the chili was quite good as well – just the right amount of flavor without being spicy, which I appreciated. My daughter ordered a hot dog that was enormous, and she really enjoyed it. We all had root beer floats, which were especially refreshing on the hottest day of the season so far. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive. If I ever have the chance to return, I certainly will!
Our waitress was new, but she was absolutely fantastic. The manager was incredibly helpful and an amazing trainer. It's been a long time since I've experienced a place with a management team that genuinely cares for their employees like this manager does.
I hadn't been to this place in 10 years, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful woman at the bar who helped me with my order. I had a mega cheeseburger with speck and it was fantastic! I also got a large root beer to go with it. The overall meal was filling and priced at just $14, making it a great lunch. I left a $20 tip because it was worth it. If you go, make sure to mention that Brian sent you!
