We ate here with some friends the other day. We sat outside in the beer garden which was a nice setting. There is quite good variety on the menu and some things you wouldn’t usually get at a pub. I opted for the crab boa bun and Halloumi fries. Both of which were nice. I’ve not had boa buns that many times and the crab goes well with it. My wife got the chicken burger and haggis Bon bons. The chicken burger was fine but she was surprised to see that it was shredded chicken in the burger so wasn’t a massive fan of the texture. The bon bons but the sauce wasn’t the best. Someone else in the group ordered the bread basket which was enormous. It was surprisingly big and more of a sharing dish. I helped eat it. The bread was ok, the pesto was over flowing out of the pot and was tasteless. Truffle chips were also ordered which again was a really big potion. Especially compared to my relatively small portion of Halloumi fries. The chips tasted fine. The max and cheese bites were also ordered and seemed to have went down well. You have to order your meal at the bar and the man (the one with the tash) which was taking the order was miserable. Couldn’t crack a smile. Waiting time for the food wasn’t too long which was good. Toilets were clean.
Lovely place for a drink. Nice clientele. Fabulous staff.
