The Rock Restaurant Zanzibar

Excellent culinary experience from picking up on the beach to boating and to the last bite, this was an exquisite experience to say the least. the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the rock special, the lobster, squid, king prawns, oktopus and a whole bunch of other things. the dish was huge and so much to eat. I ate it all and the best part is that I don't feel hard after that, which tells a lot about how fresh everything was. I loved eating so much I wanted to go back the next day! great restaurant

Unbelievably happy to finally come to the rock restaurant! it has been on my and the bucket list of my friend for years! after many months of insecurity due to the virus it was incredible to sit in a restaurant in the middle of the Indian Ocean and enjoy incredible food and drinks. the staff was amazingly friendly, everything was perfectly clean and sanitary! we felt at home and cannot wait to be back! Many thanks.

Today we have found a beautiful little place and have been lost in its beauty since one. what a jewel of my soul. the hotel is located in front of michamvi pingwe beach at the southeast coast of the island, reminds me of a small floating restaurant. I honestly don't think there's another place that has such a nice feeling and special location, fantastic service, delicious eating and a beautiful outsight. welcoming party was a nice Italian gentleman manager who definitely added charm to the place. gracie! the menu is perfect for the magie of the location. we, where said, all ingredients are produced locally, wherever possible, seafood is harvested from the reefs around the restaurant, wild fish is caught daily by local fishermen, seasoned from the spicy farms of zanzibar, vegetables before place. this place is a must, end of my story.

I had heard that eating is overrated, but we really enjoyed it and the staff was especially the Italian manager. great view from behind too.

We visited The Rock during our trip to Zanzibar. I was impressed by the beauty of this unique restaurant situated in the middle of the ocean. During the low tide you can walk to the restaurant but during the high tide you need to transfer by boat which makes it a unique experience. The staff is super friendly which makes the experience even more pleasant...a special thanks to the manager Reddy. We had a inspiring conversation which really touched us. I recommend the seafood enough for 2pax and the cocktail The Rock . For dessert give it a try to the tiramisu,made with handmade mascarpone and biscuit. We traveled during the epidemic and I can assure you that we felt safe all the time. The restaurant follows all the safety guidelines. Also, this is the best time to travel as we had the restaurant for ourselves due to the lack of tourists. Usually The Rock is extremely busy at the point that it's necessary to book in advance so it was special to have a private experience.
