Good place to get Chinese food in Japan. Nice experience to see how the Japanese gave their take on Japanese cuisine. Prices are affordable too and the place is big with plenty of tables. If you are alone though or a small group, expect to be seated together with strangers at one table. I loved my chicken wings order, it was delicious and they also have lots of soup with herbs. The staff who served us though, although non-Japanese could not explain properly the food. He spoke English but couldn't go more inti details about the food specifics. Still, we managed to order good food.
Locally famous Chinese restaurant, serving popular Taiwan ramen, which, despite it 's name, is food comming from Nagoya. Ramen itself was pretty spicy even for me, and trust me, I love spicy food and Mad Dog sauce is like eye drops for me. Me and my wife coughed quite a lot, it seems the chilli inside was bit burned. Gyoza here is pretty small and not that delicious that does not mean bad or disgusting, but simply not appealing. Kirin beer tasted quite watery for us, although Kirin is normally not bad at all. The restaurant itself is pretty busy we arrived around 20:30 and it was crowded, people were waiting in line to pay and newcommers were waiting when their name in the reservation book is being called. The restaurant has two floors and is pretty simple. First floor can be used for private table , where the second floor offers larger tables where strangers share one table. Not bad, but may turn off someone. However, I do not see an issue with this, since this place is quite cheap. 4 stars out of 5
Misen is one of my favorite places in Nagoya. It's always stupid. Don't get away from the crowd of people waiting outside, it's a big place and people go and come all the time. Put your name on the clipboard at the door and set yourself a bit, you will sit in 10-20 minutes, even during the busy times. If you sit down, you have a great time. It is smokey (food, not cigarettes), loud and greasy, and the staff is removed from the feet, but the atmosphere cannot beat. It is cheap (I can be full of about 2000 yen), portions are decent size and almost everything has enough spices to melt your face. The Taiwanese spicy ramen is a must, and I also like the sweet and sour pig, as well as the hot and sour soup. There are also a few different types of gyoza, tebasaki and so on that are worth a punt. Throw in a beer or two and you are set. One of the best.
OMG the best food ever really spicy!! I almost died!!! These pictures are after, but really awesome experience
