We were lucky to meet the gorgeous Winemaker Tom, who was absolutely lovely and chatted to our group for a while. The staff were very friendly and down to earth, with excellent knowledge of the food. Head Chef Cookie brings his Korean inspired flavours to contemporary, modern share dishes. The wines were all easy drinking Adelaide Hills style with the Amos Chardonnay being one stand out. The red wines are silky, smooth and fun. The venue is beautiful... the perfect mix of the old stone barn with a modern twist. Highly recommended this Cellar Door and Restaurant for families or a romantic lunch or drink.
First time I have been here, for my Nephews Wedding. A beautiful place, lovely lawn setting and inside was fantastic. You could not fault the Staff, they catered for anything you wanted. Can't forget the scrumptious food, so tasty.
We found the interior and ambience of Clover and Stone quite attractive I’m always won over by white table cloths! but all a bit too wedding y or conference like with the tables very geometrically placed! It is such a shame that the windows in the restaurant do not stretch all the way along the wall to let the lovely vineyard views in. We cannot fault the quality of the food or the service. With a Korean twist the food does not end up like a ‘fusion mess’ that so often occurs in similar situations. Well done! The flavours were just right and the truffle mushroom cigar appetisers were absolutely amazing a real surprise that seaweed and truffle could work that well together. For us, unfortunately the generosity of the serving sizes was a minus and not a plus. We wish we had understood the sizes better – but I suppose we shall know for next time! With a minimum of two courses enforced, we chose one appetiser, one entrée and one main each .....and then we could barely move for 24 hours after!! The beef rib could definitely have served two. The sauces are quite rich and/or sweet as well so, although very nice, they add to the ‘weight’ of the dishes. One appetiser and one entrée would have been plenty – and we are not small eaters. I’m not sure if that would have satisfied their 2 course minimum criteria???? We saw a side of potatoes go out to the table next to us and it was just madness…………the quantity would have been enough to satisfy one large man for lunch on its own! We recommend you turn up absolutely starving. They will try to suggest you order the ‘platter’ option $60 per head I recall and we watched those platters going out to tables and nearly fainted at the thought of consuming it all. The Amos Shiraz was a very nice drop. Will return .... to order less!
We were so happy we decided to stop by this restaurant. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food and wine were fantastic. It's a great place for kids to play and have fun. We definitely plan on returning.
After visiting wineries all over Australia, we can confidently say that the wine tasting experience at Howard Vineyard is the best. Our host, Kelly, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We were able to taste a variety of wines, from Rose and Chardonnay to Pinot Noir, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which were amazing. The tasting included a fantastic cheese platter with a delicious Honey Marmalade. In addition to their excellent lunch menu, Howard Vineyard offers a wine club membership with significant discounts on orders and free delivery interstate. We want to thank Kelly and her team for providing us with a truly memorable experience during our Adelaide Hills Holiday.
