Beefeaters Chop House and Grill

Had dinner sitting outside overlooking the marina. Food was good, had Calamari for our appetizer and Salmon with crabmeat and shrimp on top. Very tasty, wish it was a little larger, but not bad! Friendly staff.

13 of us went for dinner on the patio.... lovely setting but the service! What service? We arrived for 5:30 and didn't get out until almost 8:30!! Most of the time was spent waiting. They never even came back to come see how the food was, if we needed anything and it took so long to bring it out! We had to ask for a dessert menu and then it took forever to take the order and deliver it. Very disappointing! When we asked to see the manager, we were told he was too busy.... really?? Not impressed.

We went here on the recommendation of a friend. It is right on the waterfront and we sat on the patio on a lovely summer day.The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. I had a mimosa that was delicious. I also had the fish and chips which was the special of the day. The fish was fine, nothing to write home about. The chips we're fresh cut and tasty, but there was only a tiny handful of them. I'm not exaggerating to say about 10-12 total. The portions of my dining companions were also very small, especially those who ordered pasta. Since the meals were so small we all had plenty of room for dessert which was very tasty. I had the rice pudding which was warm and creamy. Really our only complaint was the size of the portions. Everything else was great.

Nice location on the water. Decent menue and the staff are very friendly. Well prepared and tasty meals. Nice place to have lunch with friends. Will definately eat here again.

I ordered takeout just before catching the ferry to vancouver.The steak sandwich was Ok /not bad.Ive had better though.I wouldnt mind coming back if taking the ferry as its literally right beside (convenient). Though if staying in Nanaimo there are probably better options closer to downtown.
