Adventurous Wednesdays, the chef prepares four different five course meals and and decides what to send to your table. It is an adventure because you don't get to choose. But I don't think you can go far wrong, everything should be great. Thursdays and Sundays, in addition to the regular menu, they have a Prix Fixe three course meal menu. You have the choice from two each of appetizers, mains and desserts. There were four of us and we all ordered Prix Fixe. Between us, we ordered every dish on the menu and they were all outstanding. Both this and the regular menu offer options you won't see most places. I had the Pork Tenderloin with Pork Belly combo. Delicious and I bet you won't find pork belly at the average restaurant. The Creme Brulée Napoleon was to die for and totally unique. The creme is sandwiched in layers of pastry. They source as much as possible as close to home as they can. We had a lovely Bacchus wine from Duncan here on Vancouver Island. I recommend it and it is a pretty good price too.You need to be aware that the restaurant is not open for lunch, is closed Monday and Tuesday evenings and Wednesday offers only the Adventurous meals. Just plan ahead, it's worth it.
Great tasting menu of five courses. Efficient but unubtrusive service. Delicious variety of courses and very accomodating to our vegetarian guest.Artfully presented and generous portions.Lovely setting and garden. Extremely good value for such fine fare.
This is a good place to go if you are not fussy. Without giving away too much information you need to be adventurous to go here. Keep an open mind and live a little. ;) Service and food are both good.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner amd were delighted from the start. Walking up to the restaurant is a grape covered walkway; the entrance is just like a house. The art work is subltle and just enough. This would be an amazing setting for a wedding. We did not venture upstaires to see the art display; next time. The service was prompt and friendly. We were seated right away, and were given enough time to browse the drink menus. Our server was very friendly and personable; I wish we caught her name.I start with dessert, and the chocolate dessert was the best bite of chocolate I have ever put in my mouth. It was similar to the center of a lindor chocolate.. Only better. It was the best beginning to any dinner. I have the hen and hubby had the seafood pot; both were absolutely delishes! However; we saw someone else having the steak dinner and yummy!! Looked to die for; we will defiatly be back to try that dish.. And more dessert!!
What can I say? Adventurous Wednesday is not only fun and exciting, but delicious as well. It is definitely adventurous leaving your dining choices up to the chef but what a treat once it's presented to you. Mahle House and Adventurous Wednesdays are one of our favorite places to frequent.
