Oxy Grill - Nanaimo

After seeing the best of Nanaimo magazine that recently came out, we decided to give Oxy a try for wing night. According the the magazine their wings are supposed to be number one in town. Ok, let's start with the bar itself, looks old and dirty. Well, if claimed by another reviewer that this was just remodeled, I would have hated to see it before. Server was just ok, when I asked about what a few of the flavors of wings are, she seemed annoyed. Excuse me for asking what was on the Greek wings as well as the Thai. Took what seemed like a long time to get two orders of wings, then try to get another beverage, or get her attention to get another one. Let me say if these are the best wings in Nanaimo, then Nanaimo is in deep trouble. Perhaps someone should tell them when you order two different kinds of wings, they not only should look different but taste different as well. We actually had thought that they had made a mistake and given us two baskets of the same flavor. In all fairness, perhaps it was what we ordered, but we will not be going back to find out. Bottom line, when we walked in and saw the place, we should have walked out. We have eaten in tons of little pubs and belong to the legion, so are used to going to places that are not always fancy, but this place is less that desirable. Recommendation, save your money and go elsewhere.

For pub food it was a surprise to get the quality of food at reasonable prices inside the oxy .i hadd the steak sandwich it was quite filling

Breakfast is always good. Just wish the plates were warm. The eggs always arrive cold.? Other than that we love it here!

This waitress might be the best server in the bar, but only because the rest are so bad. Terrible service, rude blonde waitress, totally ignored by the male server.

From wing night to regular specials...great pub food and good prices.Fun activities in the evenings or just drop in for a beer. Most staff have been there forever and offer efficient service.Historical building in the Old City Quarter and said to be haunted!Sunday breakfast is delicious!
