Came to see my mom in coquitlamWe were in poco because we had to do something hereWe wanted pho so we decided to go to this pho_Worst idea ever.
This is a nice simple modern look Vietnamese Resturant Me and my family have been there many time, when the other owner.
Parked easily outside.Ordered two B1's.Spicy soup, and regular beef slice with tendon/tripe soup.Soups were good but the B1's came in smaller capacity custom square bowls not the large round bowls you get on the mainland. So the B1 vermicelli was tasty but light as in 'small' portioned. Smallest I've ever had. An extra fist full of vermicelli would have upsized the meal adequately but I could only dream on.I left hungry! Was going to order the Spring roll as in 1 singular springroll but at $4.00 (tax in) for 1 springroll it has managed to become a luxury item that will spike the bill and drive my personal tab way up for three little bites. No thanks !Still searching for the illusive good value delicious Vietnamese restaurant I long for over here on east Vancouver Island.Sat with a table full of dirty dishes for too long before getting the waitresses attention to get the bill and leave, still hungry.
I frequent this establishment often and each time I'm left wondering why I keep coming back. It's not for the prices or the quality, it's definitely not for the service where inexperienced young what appears to be ESL students offend you with each word and action they say and make.Last night was no exception and as I've given them quite a few chances, this is my last time entering the doors of Pho Boi. I was told to find my own table as per usual so I did, when I sat down I ordered a Summer Roll and he asked if that was it, I replied I hadn't decided on what I was also going to order but I purposely did this as each and every time I've ordered both the A4 to START, then after I was done, I would like to enjoy a B3, but each & every time, the two items come out together or sometimes the appetizer comes out well after the main dish has been served and half eaten. The female owner or manager sat behind me to eat her dinner and I appreciate she was taking time to herself but then to encourage child like behaviour and conversation with her server and while doing so, reprimanding him for giving her the phone as someone had called in to speak to her. It was and always is the most bizarre experience and so for this reason and for the lack of quality of food, I will not be entering these doors again. The not too busy dining room should be an indication that there is something wrong with this business and until they fix it, I will be voting with my feet and walking out the door to another Vietnamese Restaurant which is busy, clean and professional.Good luck to them and I hope they fix it...!!
