Tania's Restaurant - Nanaimo

Excellent home cooked diner style food and great service. just found our new favorite place! The dining room is wide open, so it's not a quiet, romantic atmosphere; very typical diner mood. The staff all seem friendly and outgoing and service was fast and with a smile. Decent prices, too.

Best and most reasonable place for breakfast or lunch. All food home made and coffee is great. A mini breakfast is plenty, with two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage, real home fried potatoes and toast. Service is great. Always busy. You will love it.

Could not recommend this restaurant. The sausages were cooked in a deep fryer and not well and the lack of care and presentation for the food didn't help. My impression was that local produce was not used in the meals.

I haven't been since Courtnay and Judy left after Tania sold the restaurant and this will be the last and I've been going there for 20 years. Sat there for 10 minutes while for ladies worked the floor and kept walking past with no acknowledgement then 1 says she be with is right away another 10 minutes and many more passes by ladies on the floor and still no coffee and there was 4 ladies on the floor. Walked out and never ever going back. Too bad hard to say goodbye to such a Nanaimo staple...miss the previous staff and ownership!

Stopped in for the first time a week ago after hearing good things on TripAdvisor. I'm surprised it took so long for us to check this place out - it was great! Great diner food, BIG portions and very friendly staff. Perfect for when you want a standard breakfast at a good price but better quality than a chain. My husband had the pancake stack and couldn't finish it! The eggs benny was good, hashbrowns were homemade, which was nice. Not much vegetarian on their menu for lunch, but we'll definitely come back for breakfast.
