Umi Sushi Express - Nanaimo

When I dropped by for take-out this afternoon, the front cooler was just being re-stocked, and I picked up one Cali-dynamite combo box, one kappa maki and one inari. When I got home, they all tasted fresh and yummy!I like roll sushi , just not when it has dressing squirted across it, so that limited my choices. Well, they put out boxes of the sushi rolls that sell.I also love eating ginger with my roll sushi, and I love dunking my roll pieces into a wasabi-soy sauce mix. There was lots of soy sauce available, in those 6ml Shirakiku packs, but.... Next time I'll know to ask for extra ginger and wasabi. Actually it's probably a good call for them not to include much ginger and wasabi, because most of it would probably be wasted.After I left, I looked back and saw the cooler was being re-stocked.Great little sushi express!

A wonderful experience at a very quaint Umi Sushi express. It is Fast, Fresh, and Reasonably priced.

Nice authentic style restaurant. I had the chicken teriyaki bento. The sushi was just average but the teriyaki was fantastic. The service was also way above average. It was fast, clean, and inexpensive. My kind of lunch.

When I came to nanaimo first day, my friend recommend umi sushi. I try their bento box is delicious, is my favorite I really like that. next time I will recommend to my friend.

I always have a bento box when I eat at Umi Sushi Express at Woodgrove Mall. I usually order the Chicken Bento: chicken teriyaki on rice, vegetable tempura, salad, California roll and dynamite roll. It is tasty, filling & fairly healthy. Umi looks nice & clean. Their food turns over quickly. So, it is fresh. The bento box is fairly priced. A perfect stop when power shopping in the mall. But, if, I am craving sushi, I go across the street to Nori which has the best & freshest sushi in Nanaimo.
