Beautiful old-fashioned café with seats at the breakfast bar or at tables. We have breakfast there three of the four mornings we were in Napa. The portions are generous and delicious. Somehow we could save space to buy an item from bakery for breakfast dessert. They've been in business for 70 years, and we definitely understand why after dinner there.
This is a delicious piece of Napa. The treats were good, could have been a bit fresher but tasteful. The service was great! Very attentive and patient. We tried to have breakfast, but it was a lot to do so that we could do for donuts and coffee from the bakery. This place is worth a shot and I'd go back when I get the area.
We visit Buttercream virtually every time we are in Napa. We ate there, it's basically an American diner experience with Diner Type Food. You have table and counter, and was pretty full when we were last Sunday. Not lying, we usually go for the pastries and donuts - definitely with the stop. You also have cookies, cakes, cakes. Best to go sooner than later because they can run from favorites.
Bakery looked good but the diner was a mess. We waited a long time to be seated without any communication. The hostess/waitress was apparently allergic to smiles and slammed our coffee down unceremoniously. Our waitress also afflicted with the smile allergy, seemed annoyed that we didn't want vanilla creamer. Lastly, my French toast was uncooked in the middle. They microwave the bacon. Just grab donuts and leave this contradiction of cheery environment and surly staff.
