I would sit under the great John Coltrane poster and listen to new music, and feel like I was at home. New ownership has taken over, and it has all just been whitewashed. All the originality, vibe, and charm is gone. Staff now all wear the same outfits, and there are these “espresso yourself” signs everywhere. It’s like watching corporate America take over the small business feel in real time. I used to come here and feel like part of a community, and now it feels like having coffee in the bargain bin of Michael’s craft store. The coffee and food are fine the staff is great, as always. But if you want a unique and homey experience, Riverwalk is no longer the place. This place is sterile now.
This place has amazing ambiance and atmosphere! Great space, with good use of seating, counters, and ordering. Stopped in to grab some coffees to go- an iced coffee, and caramel white chocolate latte, and kind of sad we didn't have too much time to sit and enjoy the space. If we're ever back in the area we will need to do just that. The employees were very nice, and the service was really quick. Little to no wait, it seems like that great turnaround time, and they did have outdoor seating. Awesome place!
The breakfast sandwiches here are very filling. Got the feta. Huge egg sandwich between 2 biscuits. The cafe has great vibes. Boardgames and books on the shelf ready to be picked up and played with. Parking right out front as well. Free before 9am.
Got the morning kick and a blueberry scone. The kick was pretty big, had the perfect amount of spicy and tasted amazing! The bread they put it on was just so good. Scone was great also but I will have to finish that later. Fast and friendly service with a cool atmosphere.
Recently having come under new ownership, Riverwalk has undergone some changes. They still have the same great coffee and tea, the same accommodating parking lot, and the same sizable seating area for plenty of patrons. Besides some changes to the decor, the most noticeable change is that the new owner is a proficient baker. Gorgeous pastries and treats adorn the glass display cases, and I can assure you they taste as good as they look. The only thing that’s missing is the return of live music to Riverwalk. I hope the owner sees this not only as a great opportunity to generate revenue and new repeat customers, but also as a way to contribute to the culture and vibrancy of the city. For years, Riverwalk had the best open mics and indie artist bookings. I am sure many people would be excited for the return of Riverwalk to the music scene.
