The food here was very good and service was fast. Will have to go back on a Friday or Saturday when they have ribs.Plenty of parking at the farmers market.
The most amazing BBQ we’ve had in America!! After having a few recommendations from locals (we’re from the U.K. we ordered a bit of everything off the menu and went back for more. All the meat is amazingly tender and the Mac and cheese was the best we’ve had since we’ve been here. Not one to normally review places but this place really stood out to us. If you do go, get the homemade bbq sauce which is apparently a family recipe that they’re planning to bottle and sell. The only criticism is that it’s tucked in the of the back of the farmers market so wasn’t easy to find!
I came to the Nashville Farmer's Market for the first meal of my trip, and I thought I'd stop by this nice-smelling BBQ place since I figured I could get all the other international cuisines back home on the Northeast. My friend and I shared a brisket platter and half-rack of ribs (ribs only available on Fri and Sat) with fried okra, beans, and grits. I thought all the food was decent, but paled in comparison to the barbecue we had later during our trip. The ribs were well-seasoned but quite tough, needing a fork and knife (actually 2 forks since we broke one against the meat) to cut into rather than the tender pull-apart I hoped for. The brisket on the other hand was tender and pull-aparty, but not very seasoned and needed the BBQ sauce provided. The grits and okra were pretty good, but just not that hot and fresh since they came scooped out of the counter. We ended up not finishing the half rack and definitely could have done a quarter rack plus the brisket, and we ended up taking a quarter rack back to our room. Made a filling midnight snack, but after having tender fall-apart ribs elsewhere, I couldn't help but wish we had those instead.
Hands down, the best intro for a first timer at the farmers market. There's not too many places that exceed my expectations on food, especially with something as common as bbq in a bbq capita. So envision the hurdle that from the very birth of this business, that they were already faced with before even opening the doors! Opening a bbq spot in a bbq capital took a certain surety and confidence that could only be backed my, damn good bbq. And folks, it was that simple, out of respect for what it really entails to run a business. But that's just what word comes to mind after eating here! Effortless, second nature, as simple as breathing, these are the words everyone would think of when they think of the preparation of this little farmer's market hole in the wall bbq spot. Great job guys! I will be back!
I visit this place when I 'm in town and always enjoy it. Last trip I was able to try a family bbq sauce that I don 't think they always have. I think about it at least once a week and all other bbq sauce taste like junk now. That 's how amazing it was.
