We ordered the leg quarter, chicken on a stick because food on a stick is always better! and the catfish sandwich. I found the chicken to be cooked very well and the seasoning was very delicious while still being pleasantly warm. The medium was definitely packing some heat, akin to a Serrano pepper. The baked beans were sweet and delicious, the other sides were okay. The catfish sandwich was crispy and delicious, the mustard worked well with the heat, cannot wait for my next one!
The food was fantastic! I got the medium and just be warned it brings the heat, I enjoy spicy food quite a bit, and it would definitely be at the high end of the scale most places. The sides were amazing. We had spaghetti, green beans, baked beans, mac and cheese, and Cole slaw. The place definitely had a kind of a local dive joint feel, which is something I look for when I am out traveling. Top 5 for chicken places I've been to across the country so far.
Made the mistake of ordering the HOT! I knew I was in trouble when the kids(20 somethings) got MEDIUM and were crying. BEWARE This place is for real! Excellent chicken and sides. They use a dry seasoning instead of wet. Pickles and white bread, of course. Get plenty of napkins, you do not want to get the seasoning in your eyes. And you might need them to blow your nose
We were told about this place by the tour bus driver. It’s a local favorite for fried chicken and fixings. Parking is a bit tricky since it comes up fast. We passed the parking lot but turned up the next street and went down the alley to get to the backside of the parking lot. So many people followed us only to find out that they were closed!
Over rated. Chicken was extremely over cooked. Catfish with mustard, onions and pickles was good. Saw a 2 inch long cockroach on the wall on the way out. Restroom was so bad I want even describe it here. But the spice is hot.
