Appetizers, sides, deserts just so-so. Atmosphere doesn't compare to the fancier fru-fru places but then again, what do you want, really?
I attended the Casamigos Tastemakers dinner, which was the third event I've attended at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed with the food at both this event and a previous one featuring Caymus. This time, I found all of the food options to be subpar. The amuse-bouche of mashed black beans with crema and tomatillos was particularly unappealing. Only two drinks stood out as being enjoyable. The cocktail with blossoms was unappetizing, and the last drink featuring aged tequila was lackluster as well. The price of over $300 per person for each dinner did not seem justified given the quality of the food. Serving only Mexican cuisine felt somewhat inappropriate considering the theme was tequila, as there are many other food options that could have been paired with the drink. It would have been helpful to see the menu beforehand in order to make a more informed decision about attending the dinner. I likely would have declined the invitation to the Casamigos dinner if I had known the menu in advance. Hopefully, the upcoming dinner in October will be an improvement over the last two events. The first Tastemakers dinner featuring Rombauer was much more enjoyable.
The food was fantastic, but the service was very slow considering how few people were dining at the restaurant that night.
The ceiling was dripping water onto our food and nothing was done about it, unfortunately.
Liza was amazing!! We loved her service and she always made sure we were taken care of! Will definitely be back!!
