Contribuisci feedbackI’ve been a top fan of the behive for years, and recently I recommended to a friend, and their response was, “girl their Google reviews lately are bad!” This was a huge shock to me, so I went and saw for myself. As an avid Yelp user, I never read google reviews, but I am here to give a review anyway, mainly because I disagree with the horrible, untrue reviews that have been posted lately. I urge you all to look at the reviews these negative people leave and you’ll see a trend that they never have anything nice to say about anywhere.Anyway, here is my honest, professionally accurate review of the palace I call the “behive.”Vegan food has always been hard to come by in a chicken fried, dairy drenched city like nashville. I’ve lived here for over a decade, and have tried every single vegan place in the city. Out of all of them, the behive is the only place that caters to the foods that I have always loved eating prior to being vegan, but also having their own creative twists with specials and grocery items. The growth of options the behive has started offering just in the last 3 years has been astonishing and much appreciated by the majority of customers. That’s a fact that you cannot argue. So let’s talk about the food. It’s always been good, but this is the 3rd menu change I’ve been around for, and I can wholeheartedly say that it is by far the best, most diverse selection. Vegan food has to be thoughtful, and in a way it’s challenging to get flavors that even the meat eaters will enjoy. The behive has succeeded with that. The culinary team and management have gone above and beyond to provide options for all types of diners. For example, with the feedback over the last few years, there are now half a dozen gluten free options. The addition of tofu has provided so many more diners with meals that satisfy, all while focusing on the groovy, ancient gift of tofu. The sandwiches remind me of what I’d make for myself after a hot day playing in the pool as a kid, and the waffle fries come out piping hot and crispy. Crunchwraps have been taking the vegan world by storm, and remind me of being 22 and in the drive through at 1am. I’m so glad to have 3 options instead of just the classic! If you haven’t tried the brunch one, you gotta. They took the feedback from the breakfast burrito and made it better, in Crunchwrap form. Think of it as getting a new pair of jeans that fit just right. It just works. As for the rest of the menu, I have several highlights. Three salads? Slay! We love a healthy green vegan! I appreciate the options! MILKSHAKES? In nashville? Without DAIRY??? Literally groundbreaking. My heart swells with this option! Do you know how long it had been since I could suck down a milkshake without feeling like I was dying? TOO LONG.Lastly, the grocery. This is a newer concept that has really blossomed since Covid. Unless you’re able to shop at specialty stores like turnip truck or Whole Foods, these options aren’t really accessible. The behive saw that and made it easy for diners to get a yummy vegan meal, and take home some of their grocery staples. I recommend getting a couple things every time you’re in, and then falling in love with items you make essentials in your panty! I love the pocket lattes, take and bake biscuits, hot sauces, and goat chips. Have you seen the sweet hazel candy bars? Don’t get one unless you’re ready to be hooked!Overall, the behive is probably my favorite place in nashville. It feels like a safe haven for me consistent food that makes me feel happy, staff that are cool and friendly, and grocery staples I can wow my non vegan friends with. I have and will always appreciate the thought and care that the behive has for nashvillians.TLDR: behive is incredible. Wear stretchy pants and order one of everything. Mwah!
Thought I would try the new fry dish, horrible. They barely put cheese on it I asked for ranch on the side and didn't receive that so I had to add ketchup so it wouldn't be so dry. I asked for plasticware and they gave me a spoon(very confused here I didn't order anything that needed a spoon). Oh and the receipt that they scrambled their comment on was unprofessional. By the way if you call yourselves vegan look up what SOY does to the body!
We were hoping this would be something special, based on the high reviews, but it truly was a disappointment. It’s a shame, because there are not enough vegan restaurants in Nashville, and I like the character of the place, the staff is very friendly, the description of the entire menu makes me want to eat there, but the food just has very little flavor. The seitan hot chicken sandwich, the seitan chicken Caesar salad, and the classic sub were all so lacking in flavor, we felt a bit defeated that these items came to $40 with two of the worst tasting sodas we have ever had. I’m giving it 3 stars because the staff seems sweet and I don’t wish to do jarring damage to a local vegan restaurant, but I do hope the place improves the quality of the food and experiments more with seasoning meat alternatives.
We love this spot! Taco crunch is a go to and their vegan meat is great to cook with at home as well.
Love this place! I eat once a week. The price is fair, the staff is friendly. Only reason I’m giving them 4 stars is because the food is never cooked to fresh hot.
