The grocery store section of the store was satisfactory, offering a variety of items as expected. However, we decided to try a sandwich from the deli and it turned out to be a disappointing experience. The sandwich had a taste similar to a bland vegetable soup on cardboard. We recommend avoiding the sandwiches at this store if you ever find yourself in Nassau.
We travelled here after being tired of the overly expensive vegan options at the Baha Mar Grand Hyatt. We grabbed a bunch of great snacks for the kids, many are options that we can get in the states too like Hippeas, glutino lemon wafers and Honest teas. There’s great organic produce as well as good vegan brands such as daiya tofutti cream cheese. The let down was that there were no options at all for eco or organic nappies and wipes for our baby daughter. That feels very behind the times these days. It was all just Pampers Huggies. I’d like to see at least one option of a nappy brand other than those mainstream ones. Also we went to the deli to get a sandwich, the avocado they used was a browned avocado spread not from a fresh avocado, they had no vegan cheese as options and the ciabatta bread was stale. I’d stay away from the deli section as it was a let down. Overall though a positive shopping experience and probably a rare gem in Nassau.
As we were having difficulty finding vegan options, we ultimately decided to create our own meal. The food selection at this establishment was decent, offering a variety of options. However, when we saw a deli, we thought it would be a good idea to get a sandwich. This turned out to be a huge mistake. The sandwich tasted as if it was made with a bland and watery soup on cardboard. It was so soggy that we would advise avoiding the sandwiches at all costs.
We also tried a sandwich from the deli, which had poorly spread avocado and stale ciabatta bread. They did not have any vegan cheese options available. Overall, we would recommend avoiding the deli section, as it seemed quite deserted. Despite this, we had a positive shopping experience and believe this restaurant is a hidden gem in Wetau.
