Contribuisci feedbackThis restaurant offers a fantastic selection of Japanese cuisine, with a wide array of sushi and hot dishes. As someone who loves udon, I decided to try it and was thoroughly impressed. The noodles were cooked to perfection—light and springy—while the broth was flavorful and light. The variety of vegetables included was excellent as well. The tempura was crispy, although I would have preferred it served on the side to prevent it from getting soggy in the soup. Overall, the portion sizes were generous. My friend ordered a raw beef and miso dish that was prepared over a small coal fire, allowing the beef to cook right in front of us. It was a unique experience, and she found it absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself has a lovely aesthetic; the interior is clean and beautifully decorated. The dishes were presented on visually appealing plates and bowls, and the attention to detail enhanced the overall dining experience.
I would rate this restaurant a solid 4.8 or 4.9! The food was outstanding. We ordered the scorpion roll, spider roll, dragon roll, and spicy scallop roll, all of which I highly recommend if you're a sushi lover. There was virtually no wait to be seated or for our food, and the restaurant was very clean. They offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The only area for improvement might be to diversify the drink menu, but that's a minor issue since they do have a good selection of sake and Japanese whiskey. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends!
The food at this restaurant was excellent. I tried the Philadelphia roll (please, no judgments), chirashi, and the kushiage dinner. Everything was flavorful and enjoyable, although I noticed that some pieces of sushi were quite small (like the salmon), while others were larger (such as the tuna). If you order the kushiage, I recommend asking for extra sauce.
Oga has been my husband’s favorite sushi place in Metrowest for many years. As a family we always come here on his birthday and order the same food. I especially like Oga’s sushi 8 pieces. It looks like food but tastes like art. The fish always tasty fresh and melts in your mouth. Truly authentic Japanese food. Thank you!
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Metro Boston with prices substantially lower than Downtown Boston. It's worth getting through the traffic. Oga is at its best with daily specials. You can still ask for the specials when dining on but most have now been listed in the menu and the servers simply tell you what is or isn't available, when ordering. The nigiri is perfectly thought through and portioned, unlike many other places that either offer you too much rice on each roll, or too little. The fish is pristine in both sushi and sashimi. Maki selection is the almost the same as the original Ginza, where Oga ran the sushi bar. Some of the kitchen dishes are hard to find in this area, as is some of the fish in specials. Best eggplant, hokkayaki and agedashi dofu around not sure how they compare to NYC or LA but this restaurant would easily survive there. Exceptionally friendly and loyal staff I've seen some of them at both Ginza locations going back to the 90s. On the down side, the minimalist decor that was modern, bright and airy initially didn't age well. But some of it was functional, as the menu had been expanded prepandemic. But it could still use an upgrade. Overall, a great place that can be easily missed because of location. Also has a sister noodle bar in Cambridge and a now spun off teppanyaki restaurant in Nashua with a similar menu.
