Discovery Lodge Tongariro

My wife and I stayed in a chalet for 2 nights in late February. We had a great stay- the chalet was perfect. Super clean and modern. The food at the restaurant onsite was superb and we ate their both nights.

Discovery Lodge Tongariro was my home, by way of a tent for a week was sad to leave. Very friendly, helpful knowledgeable staff (good advice regarding weather walks ; nice relaxing communal lounge, dining, kitchen area and warm showers after a long day on your feet. If it weren't for the super early shuttle, I wouldn't have made the last bus for the Tongariro Crossing : The onsite restaurant also serves good decent food. Would go back again :

I had a full day quad biking in the tongariro area with my dad from Taupo quads a few years ago and it was the best time I've had in my life.
