Le Flambadou - Naucelle

Like everyone else, the outside is drab but the food inside is fab! Stopped here en route to Millau on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews and not disappointed. Quiet midweek lunch with only French locals and ourselves. Very helpful madame and I guess her husband in the kitchen. Had the maison's FG, huge plate of prawns, duck breast and chips. All beautifully presented and delious. Definitely worth a detour and very good value too.

From the outside the place like the hamlet of Naucelle Gare looks neglected and passed by. Don't be put off the restaurant is at the back in a clean, bright room, looking onto a garden. The food is very good and served with attention and a smile. Don't expect haute cuisine do expect honest food, well presented and a warm welcome and service. Don't forget to visit the Chateau Bosc if you are in this area.

Rule one of traveling the french countryside: If you DON'T speak french you're GOING to risk having a rather BAD time.
