Chips are only half cooked, middle of them is hard and rubbery. First and last time I ever go there... I did phone and have chips replaced for the second batch to be just the same!
Husband had a large mixed meat wrap. Portion size was extremely small compared to previous owners. Large would normally fill him but this one didn’t, he could have eaten a large chips with it and still not felt full. He had stated that he will not be ordering again from there. Very disappointed!
I 'm a regular customer and have been since this chippy opened. The chips are as good as any chippy and the women there are very friendly. However, on my last three visits, I have been served by a much older woman who I believe to be the mother-in-law of the owner. She is incredibly mean with her portions and has been consistently rude. Furthermore, the atmosphere when she is there is grim. An example is that the women who usually engage in friendly conversation and banter limit their communication to do you want salt vinegar? On the last occasion I visited, the potion was even smaller than the meagre 'rations ' she had previously dealt out. On politely asking if I could have some more chips and pointing out that the chippy down the road gives much more, she suggested that I go to the other one , so I did. I won 't be returning until she is fairer with her potions either. I don 't believe she is from the area, and her approach may work elsewhere but it won 't here. People will vote with their feet as I have.
Went in and ordered. Saw on the wall that everything was now cooked in palm oil. Panicked as I'm told not to eat anything cooked in it. However, our order was good and no complaints about the cooking.
