Train Cars Coffee Kava - Nederland

We took the Independence Pass from Aspen to Estes Park and stopped in Nederland for lunch. We decided to try the Train Cars Coffee and Kava, and I’m really glad we did. Having lunch in the old train cars was really charming. The entire vibe of the place was very welcoming, and the employees were very friendly and welcoming. Since we’re both vegetarian, we got the grilled cheese and pesto on a croissant, which was very tasty albeit a bit greasy (I mean cheese and croissant, so not unexpected). We also decided to try the “world famous” mini donuts, and got them with chocolate, caramel, powdered sugar and whipped cream. Honestly, they were ok I wouldn’t get them again, but when you’re there it’s fun to try them. It wasn’t the best food ever I’d love to go there some morning for coffee, I bet it’s great but I would definitely go there again. A solid meal in a very unique setting with friendly service. Definitely a win for us.

This place was amazing!! super cool atmosphere, awesome location, great food! i got the lox sandwich and my husband got the locomotive! we got married this morning and when the man taking our over heard this he handed our card back and took care of our meal for us! we will definitely be back before our trip is over!

I can never come back to this place again! Their fresh cooked mini donuts melted my soul. So good!
