The Rice Barn - Needham

I had a disappointing experience at a restaurant I have visited many times before, making me question if it is now under new management. There was a long wait before our order was taken and my wife received the wrong dish, causing us to almost finish our meals before the correct one was brought out. They did provide a 10% discount as a gesture of apology. The food was good but expensive for lunch, costing $86 for 4 people after the discount and tip, with no alcohol. We may consider giving it another chance in case this was just a one-time issue.

I have visited The Rice Barn multiple times, although not recently. I had high expectations for this place - delicious food and excellent service. However, on this particular night, our server seemed inexperienced. He struggled with taking drink orders and it took 20 minutes for my drink to arrive. The calamari was served cold, but after sending it back, the manager apologized and brought it back piping hot. The rest of our meal was well-prepared and delicious. Despite this experience, I would still consider returning to The Rice Barn in the future, but may not have as much patience next time.

We waited for 2 hours but never received our food, so we had to leave. Our 4 hungry children were left without a meal, and all of the other customers in the restaurant also left without being served.
