My son ordered a steak market price. expensive). No salad. No bread. Mediocre service and not busy at all. Small improvements would make a huge improvement. However I won’t be back.
Went here for lunch, had good burgers and steaks, along with salads, fries, chicken strips, and some fish dishes for those that are meat avoiders.
I recently had a weekday evening dinner at Bâton Rouge Grillhouse Bar on Hunt Club Drive, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. My colleague and I decided to sit on the patio, despite the slightly chilly weather. It would have been more comfortable if the restaurant had outdoor heaters to provide some warmth. Nonetheless, we managed fine and enjoyed the outdoor ambiance. We ordered the classic ribs, and they were absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The accompanying fries were good, although they could have been a bit crispier, similar to past experiences I've had at the restaurant. One aspect that stood out was the restaurant's excellent selection of drinks. I was able to enjoy a refreshing gin and tonic, which was expertly prepared. The bar staff definitely knew their craft. However, what truly made the evening memorable was the extremely friendly wait staff. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely made an effort to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. Their friendliness and professionalism added a positive touch to the overall visit. In conclusion, my dinner experience at Bâton Rouge Grillhouse Bar on Hunt Club Drive was enjoyable. The classic ribs were delicious, and although the fries could have been crispier, they were still tasty. The restaurant's selection of drinks was impressive, and the gin and tonic I had was great. The standout feature, however, was the incredibly friendly wait staff, who made the evening memorable. I would recommend this restaurant to others seeking a pleasant dining experience
First time at Baton Rouge, Appetiizers were awesome, we were 4, we had lobster stuff mushrooms, tempura shrimp, calamari and caesar salad. Would definately order again. for the main menu, one took prime rib sandwich, it was good, the seafood linguine with scallops and shrimp, the shrimp were way over cooked, couldn't eat them, another took the top sirloin, it was suppose to be medium rare, which it was not, and very bland.
After informing the server that the steak was inedible, the manager came over to discuss the issue. He explained that since I ordered a 16-ounce steak, which was a thicker cut, it may not have been cooked through. He suggested butterfly cutting it and cooking it a bit longer. Though I was hesitant, I decided to give it a try. Unsurprisingly, it remained tough. The manager kindly offered to replace it with a filet mignon. Since filet mignon is known for being one of the most tender cuts, I thought it would be a safe bet. However, it turned out to be slightly chewy as well, though thankfully not as tough as the prime rib. At least it was juicy and not dry, but I think it lacked sufficient seasoning. I finished it, but I can say with certainty that I will never order steak from Baton Rouge again. This was actually the second time I was disappointed by their steak; the first was at a different location. They are reputed for their fall-off-the-bone ribs, so I think I’ll stick to that next time. I do appreciate that both the server and manager made an effort to address my concerns, but if their cuts of meat are consistently this poor, they won't earn a solid reputation as a steakhouse.
