HOWEVER, our experience this time was not at all what we’ve experienced in the past. All our food was just okay. In fact, most of it was overcooked. We even speculated that the mussels had been reheated from the day before. The clams and fries were so over fried, they were hard and leathery. The vegetables were very mushy from over cooking. We know they’ve had a new manager for about a year and since he arrived things have not been as good overall. Some of the wait staff that have been there for years are now also gone. Not sure if that’s any indication of where the trouble lies. They definitely have a problem in the kitchen they need to fix and fast! I hate to say that after our long history with this restaurant we would consider not returning. We will give it one more try again in the fall. If it fails again, we will be looking for a new vacation location and feel sad that something so good has ended.
I can't verbalize anything that the ratings I gave don't already say. Want a 1st class experience, complete with complimentary valet parking and food that is out of this world? This is your place. The closest I can describe the feeling of taking the last bite of food is the feeling you get when you turn the last page of the best book you've ever read. Completely satisfied but you can't wait for the sequel. I honestly couldn't wait for the next occasion to go there! Thank GOD Mother's Day is almost here!
Absolutely our most favorite restaurant ever! We always ask for our favorite waiter, Darrell. Darrell never steers us wrong in his suggestions. We specifically stop there every year on our way back to Rochester, Ny, and look forward to our dinner at North Beach Fish Camp! Best seafood and filet ever! Worth every penny and worth the stop in Jacksonville Beach! This is our fourth time and a permanent part of our itinerary!
Food was very good! Must try bread pudding with a shot of rum!!
Portions were not that large. The calamari rings were very small. The Cajuns crab claws were so-so. My husband ordered the 4 choice seafood. It was not a big portion for the amount of money in comparison to other local seafood restaurants. You get fish “bites” instead of a fish filet. The clam chowder was very good, as well as the bread pudding.
