I found somewhere and got a little bit wet but it...was not too bad. There was others that were getting soaked. I found the place to be disorganized. I got beers and only got one. The service was not friendly or professional. I had to argue for a one. The staff seem completely stressed out from running around the place and there seems no organisation. Pretty much chaos from my observation. The only saviour was the beer and the view of Maikammer and beyond. It looks more impressive from below however. I would not be in a rush to going here again and thank God that I did not order food.
Yes, right, “Berghaus” may be a bit of an ironic over-exaggeration. But indeed, this place exhibits the charm of a remote place somewhere in the mountains, and on good days it offers spectacular views over the Palatinate. And they do things right: The local food...is basic but good, service is friendly and forthcoming. I personally appreciated in particular a child-friendly attitude.
If you are in the Rhineland, I highly recommend checking this place out. It comes with a small walk/hike up through the forest but the view at the end is well worth it. They do serve good wine and a small selection of food. I...had one of their flat-breads and it was good, average. The food wasn't worth bragging about but the view and wine made this experience very memorable. Keep in mind most summer wine's are mixed with mineral water in Germany. I personally love it, its very refreshing.

Yes, right, “mountain house” can be a bit more ironic exaggerated. but in fact this place shows the charm of a distant place somewhere in the mountains, and at good days it offers a spectacular view over the fold and they do dinge right: the local food is simple but good, service is friendly and close. I personally have said that I have a child-friendly attitude.
