Came here for a casual dinner with my husband. We were keen to have some Italian/ French food. Just found the right place. Great food and amazing service. Literally everything we orders was absolutely yum. Presentation well defined : Will certainly dine again.
We had a $99 Groupon voucher and went for lunch today. Firstly I must say that the food was nowhere near as sparse as tengjudy (a recent reviewer op Trip Advisor) mentioned. A large serving of very nice chips, 2 butterflied very large prawns, 12 average pieces of salt and pepper squid, 6 mussels in chilli sauce, 8 baby octupi, 2 smallish kilpatrick oysters and a fillet of Dory (I suspect that the lack of a black mark on the skin meant it was mirror Dory and not John Dory as offered on the deal it does state though that menu items may change). The best thing were the flavours chilli mussels were the most complex and tasty chilli sauce I have had in a long time. The butterflied prawns also had a wonderful sauce and we were also impressed with the garlic aloi. The Dory and everything else was cooked very well. Was it valued at $200. I don't think so. The owner replied to tengjudy that there was extra fish compared to the normal $79.90 platter. We only had one average fillet of Dory between 2, so where is the extra fish? They also mentioned a large portion of salad compared to normal. Four olives and 8 small pieces of fetta wouldn't be much of an upgrade, and the size was average for two. Yes there was a bottle of wine included. Unlike the platter offer, which offered a Checkerboard Sav Blanc RRP Dan Murphys $10 we were given a Tolleys Watercolour Chardy RRP $4.75. It was a reasonable drop though. Both aren't on the wine list so can't say what the restaurant price would be. Overall a very enjoyable meal not huge but not too stingy either and definitely worth up to $110 20 which is more than what we paid. we have walked out of other seafood platters of a similar price much fuller, but the flavours and the standard of cooking was better here. Service was fine but we were the only diners. Rated average due to the supposed $200 value it wasn't. Would pay $99 to have it again.
Great offer of 3 courses for $60 especially when each course was so enjoyable and tasty. Lobster Entrée was beautiful with mango and delicious dressing on the salad. Main was beef bourguignon which just fell apart.. yum! Coupled with a great truffled mash, bacon and that sauce! Dessert was chocolate fondant... to die for! Cosy little restaurant away from typical busy locations. Loved it! Will definitely be back.
This gold patterned little French hideaway on the sleepy streets of Neutral Bay is a hidden gem. In an age of share plates, it was nice to settle in for a three-course-meal of continental cuisine. I started with the delightful Chicken Liver Parfait $16) with cherries, while my dining companion opted for Scallop and Crab Boudin Blanc $18) – a kind of seafood sausage, served swimming in crab bisque and caviar...
