Newk's Eatery - New Braunfels

I absolutely loved Newk's once again! I've enjoyed it before in Houston, so I was excited to stop by on my way to the San Marcos outlets. The food was just as amazing as I remembered. We tried the Newk's Q sandwich and the Italian sandwich, along with the potato soup. Everything was flavorful and satisfying! I can't wait to return soon.

The restaurant offers a flavorful menu at moderate prices, but dining here is not a quick experience. There’s a large selection of pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. I particularly enjoyed the spicy shrimp pizza, which includes shrimp, roasted red and yellow bell peppers, cheese, and red pepper flakes. I asked for it without cilantro, which is my personal preference. The light, crispy crust was perfect. On Sundays, they feature a delicious lobster bisque, which is truly worth trying. Similar to Macallister's, they offer a variety of drink options for $3. I know this is somewhat high, but many restaurants try to boost their lower profit margins. One thing I noticed during my visits is that I often see customers getting water cups and then ordering tea or soda instead. The manager has never addressed this behavior, even when it’s happening at his tables. It would be better if they either charged for what people consume or ensured it didn't affect the pricing for the rest of us.

The place is pretty clean. I love eating. the personal is always friendly. I can say that eating was freshly made without having to wait so long.

Normally I would say this place is great because it usually is, that’s why it’s getting 3 stars and not 1 but today half our order was messed up. My husbands sandwich was not the best, the avocado was completely brown/black and the bread was so hard. But the topper was the live bug in my daughters salad. She had already eaten half of it when she picked up her fork and there it was crawling around in ranch dressing.
