This is a fantastic spot for live music, featuring an intimate atmosphere. The bar is fully stocked, and the staff are extremely friendly. The sound quality is excellent as well.
Now, let’s discuss the menu—it’s fantastic! They offer two kinds of cold cut platters, available for one ($7-$9) or for two ($10-$12), which come with bread and pickles. One of the French platters features only cheeses. Everything must be delicious since they source all their charcuterie from the deli downstairs! The menu also includes a range of popular Polish dishes such as pierogies (both savory and sweet) and stuffed cabbage, alongside salads that can be enjoyed alone or with grilled chicken or salmon. We ultimately decided to order hamburgers instead. The lovely waitress asked us why we chose a Polish restaurant for burgers, and I explained that our usual spot, the Belvedere on Broad Street in Little Poland, has started closing every Wednesday. After leaving the new People’s Bank, I had planned to go across the street for a Scotch, but I remembered that the bartender had lamented their decision to take Wednesdays off. That’s how we found ourselves at this café. I missed my Scotch, but it was alright. Soft music played in the background, and through the window, we had a view of the impressive cathedral on Broad Street. Overall, for three beers, a glass and a bottle of wine, and two delicious burgers, we spent only $50. Since it was a quieter time, I had to get up to call our server twice, but she was extremely pleasant and professional. She even encouraged us to come back on a Friday night for live music. I highly recommend this place; they’re putting in a lot of effort and deserve to find their footing. There simply aren’t enough spots in New Britain to enjoy a drink during lunch, which is another reason we appreciate this venue.
Experiencing live music in such an intimate venue feels truly special, almost like having your own private concert. It provides a wonderful opportunity to chat with the artists while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. The Polish food is delightful as well, featuring kielbasa, cheese, bread with lard, pierogi, and flaczki...
The restaurant has a friendly and cozy atmosphere, with great music every Friday. The design and layout are unique and interesting. The hosts are very welcoming, and the waitresses provide excellent service.
