Taste Of Poland - New Britain

I keep forgetting that New Britain has a big Polish community, but when my family and I was in the area over the weekend, we decided to try this placed based on good recommendations. The seating area can get a bit crowded because it's not that big, but it's also a testament to the genuineness of the food that there were so many people here from the local community. The staff were friendly and helped us with unfamiliar terms, and everything was freshly prepared. I love borsht, and while this restaurant's borsht wasn't as fancy as Russian borsht (it only had broth and meat dumplings), it was still good, albeit with a slightly more sour/vinegary taste that I'm accustomed to with borsht. The pierogi were good you can get them with a variety of fillings.

Rude and unprofessional customer service with attitude. We are very disappointed , won't be returning. I would prefer to spend my money with a pleasant service and good ,fresh food.

One of the best authentic Polish home cooked meals you can get, fresh daily soups and food, deserts and pastries very good as well. Pricing is very reasonable and you will be satisfied, better then any fast food place. Staff very friendly as well

The food was ok but tried to use a gift card given to me prior the covid In January 2020 I called two times to see if they would still honor it had an expiration date of May 15 2020 on the second call one of the employees Maggie conferred with someone in the restaurant and the answer was yes it will be honored Well my wife and I went there today and the owner husband said no . I explained all the background info that I was given an ok to come and due to Covid and all they made me feel as if I was stealing from them he says be nice or I will say no which he already did so he calls his wife co owner and she puts me through the third degree who gave me the card who did i call they other employee have no right to say ok ,and on and on Finally I said either except the card or not ,quit badgering me . they conferred for another 10 minutes all for a $25.00 card and scolded me before saying ok this time like ,don 't do it again ,you bad boy . We are 80 years young never ever again will we go there let me say it again never ever again

I've been to a lot of places in New Britain but this one is the best I have ever been I always thought my mother and my wife are the best cooks and this place is equally good . Everything there reminded me back home krokiety, pierogi kluski. Delicious. Old Lyme Ct.
