I came here around 5:30pm in October and there was a wait! If you are coming during the non-peak season, come early rather than late - they stopped taking
Blue mussel cafe was one of the highlights of my east coast trip; the food was phenomenal, the service was awesome, and I loved the atmosphere here.
We have made a point of returning to this little tea room every time we treck out to PEI, and it's been a wonderful part of each trip - not to mention how interesting it has been to watch the little lady who runs the restaurant as she has grown older, but stays the same. The raspberry cordial was a fave of the kids, and her potato salad is actually something I crave often (just writing this review makes me want a taste!) The soups, sandwiches, and the beef stir fry were all delicious, so so good - but the quiche was a little flat, not a fave this time. Overall, we loved every bite.
We took the recommendation of a staff member at the Birthplace of Lucy Maud Montgomery to visit the Blue Winds Tea Room for a light lunch. This tiny and welcoming spot, with lots of flowers all around was a perfect spot for a romantic stop. Great chowder, tasty tuna sandwich followed by the New Moon Pudding, using a Maud Montgomery recipe were all heavenly. The service was exceptional and the ambiance made it a very special afternoon indeed. They also are happy to accommodate any kinds of special health requests (Gluten free, etc.) Well worth the visit!!
