Had dinner there 2 nights in a row and really enjoyed it each time. The salads were really good. They are not open for dinners again until next Spring, but be sure to eat there if you are in New Denver when they are open.
The very small town of New Denver in the West Kootenays has, as is to be expected, precious few dining options. Hence it is a treat to discover a restaurant that, if not great, offers perfectly good fare of more the 'comfort food' variety that is tasty and makes the best use of fresh, local ingredients. The menu is not large and includes salads, burgers, a few mains, bowls, and tasty desserts. I had the halibut main. Done up in a sauce, it was very tasty if a little richer than I usually expect for a seafood dish. My friends had tacos and the lamb burger, both of which received a thumbs up, as did the peanut butter and chocolate pies. Service was excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area, both for a wholesome meal and also to help support the local economy. The restaurant is apparently being renamed and rebranded in September to reflect even more of the local offerings.
Awesome food and service as before. Last chances to enjoy this food and atmosphere as it will now be open year round as some kind of a local food collective? They are open now on Thursday the Saturday nights and you can make reservations. Desserts are super delish!
This is our second trip this week. We are hiking ongoing the area and looking for a good place to eat. Both my wife and I were very impressed! The service was friendly and fast, the meal was fantastic! We left very satisfied. And that was the first night. We returned with family two nights later, with a group of 7, and it was the same. Nothing but the highest praise! Great food, large amount and reasonable prices.
