My granddaughter ended up taking some leftovers home to enjoy for lunch the following day. We very much appreciated the excellent service and delicious food. Thanks very much :-).
First time for me eating at the New Dundee Emporium! Went for lunch with a special friend and truly enjoyed our lunch :) asparagus cream soup and garden salad were delicious! Our server was very attentive. Definitely will return! You need to try this hidden treasure.
Happily, I'm old enough to remember when you could visit the Emporium when it was the only thing open on Sunday before Sunday shopping became legal in Ontario. On a snowy Winter's Sunday, you would enter to roaring fire in the wood burner and the proprietor Mr. Simpson joyfully sitting at a player piano (pretending to play) while Mrs. Simpson served tea in the then tiny Tea Room. Not much has changed over the years. the tea room has gotten bigger, and the sandwich selection is greatly expanded; there are fewer products of Scotland on the shelves and the stove and piano are gone but this is still a favorite spot to go when I'm in that area.
Had the most amazing lunch and the most amazing dinner (yes a few days apart) at the New Dundee Emporium. My favourite is the cheese and onion tart for lunch and the burger for dinner. Had a great special of spicy lamb stew. All round really good food, great service and of course the great shopping experience. I would definitely go again.
This was a very disappointing restaurantThe decor of the restaurant just looked like someone stuck a bunch of their old junk on the wall.
