Buffet No. 2 included prawn crackers (kerupuk) which were crispy and fresh, spring rolls (lumpia sayur) with crunchy pastry and vegetables, and fried wonton filled with minced chicken and prawn (pangsit goreng) which had a nice taste and came with a sweet and sour dip. For mains, we enjoyed Chicken Satay, Gado Gado, Balinese Chicken (Ayam Bumbu Bali), Rica Rica Fish (Ikan Rica Rica), Beef rendang (Rendang Sapi), Lamb curry (Gulai Kambing), and grilled prawns. We opted for the hot spicy option for all our main dishes. For dessert, my wife had black rice pudding with coconut milk (Ketan Hitam) and I had green jelly and jack fruit in coconut milk and brown sugar syrup with ice (Es Cendol). Overall, we were impressed with the Indonesian décor, the soothing classical gamelan background music, and the dining environment. The waitresses, Eileen and Ratika, were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and it was a peaceful dining experience.
I constantly crave this restaurant! In fact, I drove half an hour out of my way after work just because I needed some Indonesian food. My favorite dish is the fried chicken. The service here is excellent, and the waitresses are always lovely. The parking situation is not great, but in Fortitude Valley, you can't expect much better. I wish this place would become a franchise so that I could live closer to it. Everyone should try this amazing food.
Indonesian restaurants are rare to find. I had an image of oily and tough-on-stomach toward Indonesian cuisine. But this place was so good and my stomach is feeling still well. Fish Rica Rica and Eggplant in garlic are instant hit. All other dishes were very tasty too. Coconut ice cream with fruit cocktail was awesome finish of the dinner. Highly recommend to go there with 3+ people. Each dish is not too big so you can order about 1.5-2 main/people to share
We ordered a lot of food here and whilst it probably wasn't the tastiest Indonesian we've eaten, some dishes were lovely and it was certainly all fresh and well cooked. It's a busy restaurant but the service was efficient and we weren't left waiting fir our meals. They also seem to have a reasonable take away business. There are lots of restaurants on this strip and it's certainly worth trying.
