In my opinion, there is nothing quite like them. The garlic fingers were deliciously cheesy, garlicky, and gooey - truly heavenly slices. Be sure to pair them with an Italian soda for the perfect combination.
Whenever I visit my hometown of PC, this charming little restaurant is a must-visit for me. My girlfriends and I always make a point to meet there for lunch or dinner because the food is consistently delicious. The dishes are always prepared well and cooked to perfection. My favorite lunch option is the Popeye spinach salad and a slice of pepperoni and cheese pizza. The slice of pizza is huge and so filling. I absolutely love the poppyseed dressing that they use on the salad. Another menu favorite of mine is their garlic fingers. One of my girlfriends ordered the club sandwich on a fluffy focaccia bread with a side of vegetable soup, which she described as being very hearty. I took a bite of her sandwich and it was so yummy, made with real chicken. I also ordered the penne di polo to go for my husband and had to sneak a taste myself. The creamy sauce and large portion size were absolutely delicious. For dessert, they serve yummy cheesecakes and coffees. The wait staff at this restaurant has remained the same for years and they are a lovely bunch of ladies who are always super friendly.
Cafe Italia is a comfortable, laid-back restaurant that offers a variety of Italian dishes, including pizza. They also serve delicious coffee and cheesecake. We particularly enjoyed their flavorful pasta dishes and crisp salads. The pizzas looked tempting as well. They have a small but decent selection of wines. The prices are quite reasonable, and the restaurant is always bustling whenever I visit. The staff is friendly, although the service can be a bit slow during peak hours.
Cafe Italia is one of the few spots in New Glasgow that consistently delivers excellent food and excellent service. Although it 's not fully authentic italian, the pasta is outstanding, the warm spinach salad is AMAZING and when I leave town to return to the city, I always wish I could take an entire pizza with me. The staff are chatty and get to know your name, coffee order and favourite dishes. If you visit on a week day morning, you 'll likely find the same folks in for their regular coffee time with friends or co-workers, and by 11:30 AM the place is close to capacity for lunch. If you 're looking for something that is tasty in an atmosphere that is welcoming and homey, this is it.
Myself and 5 others stopped by the Cafe Italia for supper and were quite surprised by the quality of the food. We sat outside as the weather was warm and sunny. The very friendly waitress was attentive, friendly and checked regularly on us, which can sometimes be an issue when seated outside. The bruschetta appetizer was quite flavorful as was the seafood pasta I had as the entree. Everyone in attendance was quite pleased with their dishes. Pasta seemed to reign on the evening, however the lone pizza eater remarked that it was particularly good.
