Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

This iconic pizza place is a must-visit. The line may seem daunting, but it moves quickly. Frank Pepe and Sally's are the top two spots in New Haven for pizza. The quality of the pizza is outstanding. We tried the White Clam and Classic Tomato and Cheese pizzas, both of which were delicious. We waited around 30 minutes on a busy Saturday night, but it was well worth it. Highly recommend checking it out!

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is definitely one of the most famous pizzerias in the city, and for very good reasons. As soon as you walk in, you can tell why.

My family and I had a great time at this restaurant. The service was exceptional, making us feel right at home. The food was incredible, with the clam pizza meeting expectations and the mushroom spinach, meatball, and mushroom pies being delicious. We especially loved the mushroom pie. Overall, it was an incredible experience!

After living in New Haven, Connecticut for four years and passing through multiple times over the past forty years, I finally visited Pepe's on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Despite there being a line outside, we only had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes for a table. The restaurant was bustling, with mostly booths for four people. We ordered a white clam pizza, a sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza, and a white spinach and mushroom pizza. Cooked in a coal-fired oven, the pizzas had thin, crispy crusts with generous toppings including garlic. While I can't say it's the best pizza I've ever had, it was very delicious and I would definitely eat it again. The attentive waitress and typical New Haven pizza restaurant atmosphere added to the experience. The prices were reasonable as well. Overall, despite my extensive pizza-eating experience, I would give Pepe's five stars without hesitation, as they truly did a fantastic job with their coal-fired oven pizzas.

I and the family had an explosion here. the service was a service. it has not been felt so at home in a restaurant in quite ahile. it was all amazing what turned on eating. clam pizza was good, not great, but it fulfilled my expectations. also the mushroom pizza and meatball pizzas were delicious. in love with the mushroom cake. overall it was incredible!
