Mamoun's Falafel Restaurant - New Haven

We visited last night at 5:00pmWe were clueless as we do not have the opportunity to eat much Middle Eastern food.

If you've read any of my past reviews, you may remember that I am 1/64 Middle Eastern.

When I walked in I actually thought I may have taken a wrong turn and ended up in Istanbul.

So many options which are clearly marked. Portions are huge. Open almost any time you're hungry! I especially love the mango juice... Very heavy on the pulp. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-28

This is my personal favorite style of falafel: thin, crispy and loaded with fresh veggies and drippy tahini sauce in a grilled pita. I’ve visited this location since the late-90s, and will continue to for years to come. Great to see that they’ve updated the “vegetarian” page of their menu to “vegan” since it’s always been vegan! Also, the majority of the dessert case treats are labeled vegan! Unparalleled hot sauce. No frills dining (paper plates and cups). Highly recommended.
