Calabria - New Iberia

This is the second time we’ve tried to go there and had to go to another restaurant because, even though all of their social media sites say they’re open, there’s a sign on their door saying they’re closed. We truly live eating there but, either correct your social media or leave an outgoing message on the phone telling people you’re closed. You’re aggravating your customers!!!

We are so impressed with Calabria! We’re from out of town, visiting family, and made a takeout order on Sunday night 9/3/23. I believe I gave our order to the owner or manager and wow was he super. Most of the order was easy and normal, but I basically asked him to invent a 3rd “healthy” meal of grilled chicken and Italian seasoned veggies. He did so very graciously, which is rarely the case w special requests. The supreme pizza was AMAZING! Perfect amount of toppings, not at all greasy. The spaghetti and meatballs were great as well! He made a perfect suggestion of the Banfi Chianti Reserva to round out our amazing meal. The food was excellent, but the service did not meet my expectations for an Italian restaurant. The young server struggled with pronouncing the menu items, which was surprising. Additionally, the menus themselves were quite dirty. I suggest cleaning the menus and providing better training for your staff.

The ambiance was uninviting, and the food did not meet our expectations.

It was my first time dining there. The pasta was just okay, but the rolls were delicious!
